Actually i take my last post back. This coverage is pissing me off, they are focusing more on an overrated horse who lost than the underdog winner.
What a [censored] surprise

Reeking of awesomeness!
38-1. some made some huge money on that winner. I would have loved to see Big Brown to win it but the chances were slim in reality, injury and history

I don't think you can call a horse that won 2 of the 3 overrated. If you was talking about something that didn't win, or hadn't won, sure, but the horse had won and been dominant.
Obviously something wasn't right, I actually watched it, and I'll be very shocked if there isn't something wrong.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
I just think he used to much energy trying to get out of that mess early. I don't think anything is wrong. Desourmeaux pulled him up to help avoid something freak happening IMO. Plus, everytime he started to pull out the second horse kept running him outside. That takes more and more out of a horse.
I will say that I was drinking the Big Brown koolaid, but today cemented in my mind that Point Given was the best horse to miss out on the Triple Crown recently.

I don't see how you can call this horse overrated

I started watching horse racing when I was little, because my grandmother loved it. That's the most dominant horse I've seen in 20+ years. I had some doubt that he'd win with the injury, but he was so much better than the rest, including the winner who he'd already smoked, I thought he could still win. Within a quarter of the race I knew he wouldn't win. He just didn't look the same. It must be like a runner running with a huge gash on the bottom of his foot.
You had to know that JR would be on here 3 second after finish to chime in his usual retardation. At least some things are constant.
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
I was hopin he'd do it...but when he rared back and started lookin around 15 seconds into the race I knew he was gonna fare badly.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
Same here. The other two races he was running in about that same third spot for a while, but you could tell he was just laying back. You knew that about 3/4 through he'd turn him lose and he'd blast to the front. I don't know if the animal could feel the pain in his foot and that's why he wasn't the same, or if he just remembered it hurting and held back because of that. No way about it though, he wasn't the same. If he was like he was in either the Preakness or the Derby, he smokes the field by at least 4-5 links again.

Once he did get off the rail and on the outside, you could tell he didn't have any kick left....BTW, that was the hottest temp ever on record for this day of the year at Belmont Park according to ABC...the heat may have had something to do with Big Brown's performance as well. Wonder where BWC's daily global warming denial is???...lol
